It Insists Upon Itself (Bumped)...
***UPDATE - 7/26/06*** I found the video. Hope it lasts.
Perhaps the funniest show on TV right now is Family Guy. Evidence of that fact is the following exchange between Peter, Lois, Chris, Stewie and Brian from last Sunday night’s episode.
The Griffin’s find themselves in a panic room upstairs while three men try to rob their house. To pass the time, Peter tells the rest of the family the history of his ancestors. For reasons that are beyond explanation, the panic room ends getting filled with water and the whole family is convinced they will drown. Just before the family is rescued (thank goodness, because that means the show is not going off the air again) they have the following conversation:
Well that’s pretty much all there is to tell kids. The Griffin family history is a rich tapestry. But, since we’re all going to die, there’s one more secret I feel I have to share with you. I did not care for The Godfather.
What!
Did not care for The Godfather.
Uh!
How can you even say that dad?
Didn’t like, did not like it.
Peter, it’s so good, it’s like the perfect movie.
This is what everyone always says, whenever someone says…
Robert De Niro, Al Pacino…
I…
You never see… ROBERT DUVALL!
Fine, fine actor, did not like the movie.
Why not?
Did not… couldn’t get into it.
Explain yourself, what didn’t you like about it?
It insists upon itself, Lois.
What?
It insists upon itself.
What does that even mean?
Cause it has a valid point to make, it’s insistent!
Cause it takes forever getting in, and you spend, you spend like six and a half hours, and then, you I can’t even get through, I haven’t even seen the ending.
You’ve never seen the ending?
Ah, how can you say you don’t like it if you haven’t even given it a chance?
I agree with Stewie, it’s not really fair.
Outrageous.
I’ve tried on three separate occasions to get through it, and I get to the scene where all the guys are sitting around on the easy chairs…
Yes, it’s a great scene, I love that scene.
It’s not a great scene, I have no idea what they’re talking about, it’s like their speaking a different language. That’s where I lose interest and fade away.
They’re speaking Italian!
The language they’re speaking is the language of subtly, something you don’t understand.
I love The Money Pit. That is my answer to that statement.
Exactly.
Well, there you go
Whatever
I like that movie too.
Classic!
Since this might not translate that well to a transcript, I will post the video if I am able to find it.
***UPDATE*** Found It! Check the extended entry. The clip seems to have been removed from YouTube. I'll keep looking.

I have a copy of the clip if you would like it.

There's one missing line of Chris', but I can't tell what he's saying, so perhaps this explains why it's missing... :)
What's he saying??
